When the government announced that they would be sending stimulus checks to nearly every household in the country, we all started planning how we would use that extra $1,200.
For some, the choice was obvious. In the last few weeks we’ve seen over 1,000 people pledge to share their stimulus checks with those who need them more. From random acts of kindness to generous donations to local food kitchens, COVID-19 has created endless needs and endless opportunities for giving.
Here are just a few of the inspiring stories of how people have chosen to share their stimulus with those in need through SharetheStimulus.org:
“We want to bless those who need hope and let them know they are loved. We have helped a young man with hotel stay to keep him from living on the streets.” – Mary H., TX
“We shared 50% with my wife’s sister. She lost her job a few months ago after 30+ years in a good career. In between jobs she became very ill, had no medical insurance, had major surgery, and now has no money or job. This was a great opportunity to further help and support her.” – Bob H., TX
“I asked a friend who is a chef if any of her coworkers were in need of financial help. She immediately thought of a restaurant colleague whose wife is expecting a baby soon. I preferred to remain anonymous so my friend communicated my behalf and the family very graciously accepted money that allows them to continue to have medical coverage through the baby’s birth.” – Anonymous
