How One Stimulus Check Meets Family's Needs in Michigan Floods

Greg Forster, the Director of Oikonomia Network and Visiting Assistant Professor of Faith and Culture at Trinity International University, shares how he chose to use his COVID-19 stimulus check.

He explains that his stimulus check was delayed but that he was thankful it came later than expected, saying, “I’m glad that it was delayed, because the Lord brought an important need into my life in the interim.”

He goes on to explain that his dear friend was severely impacted by the flooding in Michigan earlier this month. He says his friend “lost everything.” Because the area that was flooded is not prone to floods, none of the impacted families had the proper flood insurance. Forster says, “He’s got no coverage and everything’s gone.”

He concludes by encouraging others who haven’t donated their stimulus checks yet to consider giving to a GoFundMe page that was made for this family, who is experiencing this immense loss during this time.
