In the last several months, Americans experiencing homelessness have been faced with the added challenges brought on by COVID-19.
One Florida man is doing his part to make sure struggling individuals in his community don’t go hungry. Francky Pierre-Paul was once homeless and has taken it upon himself to serve this population during this particularly challenging time.
Starting in late March, Pierre-Paul and his family began distributing 100-150 meals each day to the homeless population in a nearby park.
All of the food is from a local West Palm Beach diner called Howley’s. The owner of the restaurant shared that through donations, partnerships with their suppliers, and a grant from the city, they’ve been able to work with Francky on this inspiring project. This story is yet another example of communities coming together to support one another during this crisis.
